Hi welcome back to a new blog post we have this thing called summer learning Journey. We have this task to watch this tourist videos they show what is famous their I picked Australia because I want to see my family their I want to go back to see them. Because last time I have seen them was 2 or 3 years ago. I have only been to sydeny I want to go to Melbourne.

Symmetry.

Hi. Yesterday we did maths crossover and we made some shapes with paper of symmetry. We had different colours from light blue, red, orange, yellow and much, much more. We had to fold them right to look good. There were three types of folds: the Samurai, hat fold and kite fold. The hat fold was very easy to a samurai fold which was hard for me. So we had a black paper which we had to fold heaps of times. At the end I was happy how it turned out. Here is a link to the website with instructions and a photo of mine.

Egg sitting change

Hi this week we are doing a egg sitting change and we have to make sure it does not break for a week, I have made a case that has heaps of foam and some wool to make a nest. My friend put a beany on top from Holland. This change is to see how much we have  responsibly we can make a box for are egg. Here's my box.

My other friend painted his egg with all different colours. So far it has lasted hope it want

Literacy tumble

Hey bloggers to day I am going to tell you our  senior syndicate's new morning routine. What we used to do was reading then writing then maths BORING. Now we have a Literacy Tumble it is were we are set a must do work and a should do work and a could do work. We must do the must do work and some of the should do work. This is a much better morning routine but we still have to go to class's to do reading and writing But we only do that 2-4 time a week. here is a picture of our morning routine. The blue is where I need to be.

Technology rotation

                           Hi bloggers 

Hi my name is William and last Friday we spent some time doing circuits. We had some pins, a battery, tinfoil, led and a little part of cardboard. Then we had to make a big circuits and we had to make a things that turn it off and on, but it was hard to make it so it could hold and turn it off and on. One interesting thing was that we had to make switches that were made for turning off and on. Oscar my friend got it that their two switches that can turn off and on but it was very hard to make it because we had to make sure that its able to work, make a hard and complicated wirier system that is good. Also we just did a new thing were we had to make a Geo  board. To we cut it off a part of wood and then to draw dots to show were the nails are going in and then to do in vied that would be 2 cm off the edge of the Geo board to make sure its even to the side of the wood after we had to nail it to the wood and make sure it is good to put rubber bands on it so it is able to make a pattern so it has cool types like different types of flags I did the British flag, heres a photo of it and some others.   

i made it with different colours because that is how i got all this cool colours we have anther one others the next one is about making a big brige to get a marble across to the other side. We had card, cup, tape, stare and string with a team of 4-3 but we could not get any more we had to make it the longest brige. My team made a 34 cm brige to make are team finished first It was also going down but it worked out at the end and it was a great day vs .  

What I can now find out that it is ok if its bad or good it all mattes about that you have to try your best and give it all you have got.

tiritiri Matangi Island

Last week we went to Tiritiri Matangi Island we arrived at 10 to 11 a'Clock. When we arrived we went to are guides to show as around the place the first thing we could see was a duck but it was walking to the lake to on the way up we could see a fantail in the weeds and my favourite bird was a black robin this bird is small like a fantail and I very fast. The Fantail uses it's Tail to fly. Now I can use this to help me With inquiry because we are studying with animals that are native to New Zealand. Here are some photos of the day.

school sculpture

this maths we have been making are own school we all got a book that showed as what we had to do we got are rulers to measure the the class as they were in different shapes. so now we had to put it on to a google drawing and we made a table so that its in squares then highlighting it and putting it to a colour after that we made a school but putting it to together. Movie Making

Hello bloggers. It's 10/8/18 in class we made movies but this one is the worst! I even hate it. But others had way better movies. We had a limit of 40 mins of creating new ones and then downloading them. I could have gone to a place  where its quiet. It was fun to play with this app and make one movie it was also good for us to find out how to make some movies like stop motion movies and make them short and cool. But I think it could be better sorry about the noise but It is about cars doing a race to the other side. hope you like it, please use headphones.                                            Thanks for watching

Improving comments

Hi I making a new blog post about me Improving comments.
Today we had to make a comment to post to are friends and then screenshot are work to make improvements. But we had a list to make sure that we have every thing because this would make a great comment. My changes were that hi need to have something thoughtful like you could do some more photos to make it look better. But I thing that he could have done some writing. My partner was Bilal and we read each others blog posts. This was fun to see how good it is to me and it was hard and fun at the same time

Des hunt visits.

                                        Hi bloggers 

today, Des hunt came to Waikowhai Primary School. With he's wife Lynne and he is a author that writes stories for kids about 9-12 years old he involved aventce and science to solve a book that went wrong but he tried to publish the last tuatara but they they said no because it was not that inserting. So he give 20 copy's and 4 made it to the end.

  My favourite part of the this awesome part of this journey was seeing how to make he's Reader's to get into the story so he you's ed 12 marbles to make it go up a hill to show as how the reader can get hooked in and hit a dong. It was also a was to show how fores works at the start he you's ed a marble

 to hit the magnet and then the marble hit the other magnet and that marble hit the other magnet hitting the dong as case holds the dong.

Now I have seen the presentation.

I am going to read more Des hunt book's.

 like the sunken forest and Deadly feathers.

This can be a new journey for me to read more Des hunt books and learn Science.

ANZAC

Over the past few days we have been learning about Anzac like today we have been doing are dairy as if we were fighting in the war. Mine is about the battle of the bulge here's my writing.   
The 25 of December 1944

I'm running to the other turrets to give some ammo they were died dry last night from the attack by the Germans lucky we got some some help from the English. Today the p47s and the 234,324,and 769 squad are bombing Germany

Running back to the tent seeing dead body's from last night going back home. Are velechels and tanks going past to keep steady for the front line walking past to the tent as more ammo and food as are comder just died last battle as we got a map to see where we are next going to move up something's coming down from the sky people start yelling get to cover me and my team get ready to attack are tanks destroyed with only tropes trying to find the radio are new commander Rex could hear if we need any help from the radio with the snipers in white snow camouflaged into the snow. As smoke grandarnds come in as we put on are gas masks on so we don’t choke.

this all I did to day but there will be more. I like to learn about world war but I no a lot about world war two world war two was about 5 years but this all so helped us learn new things and very in portent. we learn more about this week.

Animals

This term we have been doing some inquiry about animals. We have made a slide show. We had to describe about animals on every page. There are words that have facts about what they look like and their body parts. This was very fun to do. I wish I had more to do to how it is.

Hi my name is William and today I am going to share some reading work with. we had 4 sessions we could do this, but the bad thing was that we had 1 hour. We had to read 3 stories, and watch 2 video's and make our own research waka that goes on a big trip to find plastic in the sea. It would tell the world what they could see. We had to do all of this and read this very hard book that some words we don't  know. Here's my waka that I built its in a google drawing that has some writing next to the photo.

WERE AM I

This week we are working on using descriptive language by sharing our writing straight onto our blog.  The challenge we have is to describe a place using only six sentences. After reading the description you need to guess the place that has been described. It would really help if you say what clues helped you come to this conclusion.

2. as blue things slap me while I fall

3.be in the hot while I melt

4.going to a place with no water.

kawa of care.

Guys the year 6 have been doing Kawa of care and some people have been on google drawing's and some on slides but I made it on scratch. It talks about what Cybersmart is. So hold your Chromebook with two hands. It's to learn what happens in Cybersmart. It can also help you if you are new with Chromebooks. Have a look.

I like it because it helps me learn new things and teach me every day 2x more than normal. I would do it because it's the best.
